The Jewellery Manufacturers Association (Kerala), JMA is a group of manufacturers, wholesalers and exporters of Gold ornaments. The JMA was formed in early 2004 with the mission to support and promote the progress and prosperity of all the members in the Jewellery industry across Kerala State. The Association unites a common interest and which shall shape and influence the industry’s future and bring integration and understanding amongst its members. Now JMA have 4000 members with 2,00,000 direct or indirect workers.
The gold industry is the best and the most suitable industry for Kerala State. The consumption of electricity is very less compared to other industries and it never demands more space or high investment on machineries. The industry never attracts sounds pollution or waste disposal. Accordingly this jewellery sector has made phenomenal progress, emerging as a major business providing employment to lakhs of people in this thickly populated state.
The JMA have succeeded during the past years to bring the jewellery industrialists in all categories on a common platform for interactions and to solve their needs. The other aim of association which was to provide equal status to the jewellery industry and the employees as others was also fulfilled. In addition to the uplifting of members dreams, JMA had conducted a lot of programmes based on social commitment and public interest.
